Well, today I decided to try the blogging thing. I am starting this blog to track my weight loss and exercise routine. I have tried many different ways to get back into shape, but so far, I haven't found the "magical" way. I wonder if I lay it all on the line, if that will make me stick with it. I am not telling my husband, kids, family, or friends that I am doing this. (I would be way too embarrassed). I don't even know if I can stick with it, but I am going to give it a shot. I doubt anyone will even know about this blog, so that's okay. I am doing this for me. I will be able to chart my progress, even if just for myself. I suppose I am counting on the fact that I have actually written my goals down, and maybe, just maybe, someone might see this blog and I will have to succeed for them.

It's not that I am super overweight, but I do have a fair amount of weight to lose. My goal is more in the size of clothes I wear not necessarily the pounds I weigh. I would like to fit back into a size 8 (I am currently a size 12), so I have a ways to go. (I that proper grammar?) I am more interested in the way I feel about myself than anything. I have never really had a weight problem until about 8 years ago. I have always been pretty active (though not very coordinated). I love to swim, but am now too fearful to get a suit on. I hate to run, but don't mind walking. I hate to bike ride, but like to lift weights.

I am a fairly plain, ordinary person (a "Plain Jane"), but I have fun in my own special way. I keep busy with my husband, 3 kids, a cat, a snake, a bird, and what ever neighborhood kids are in the house for the day. I work out of my home and love to be at home and have my kids' friends around. I also enjoy the quiet days when everyone is gone to school/work and I can get my work done. So, that is it for now. I look forward to my journey to better health! We'll see what happens along the way--I wonder how many side tracks will come up?
